Strengthening Connections and Growth within the Korean Community
The Korean American Association of Northern Arizona (KAANA) has elected MJ Kim as its 7th President.
Kim currently serves as the Operations Director of Sedona Mago Retreat & Wellness, where she has dedicated many years to promoting wellness, personal growth, and community engagement. Sedona Mago Retreat is recognized as Arizona’s premier wellness retreat destination and is widely regarded as one of the leading wellness retreat centers in the United States.
In her inaugural remarks, Kim shared her vision for the organization:
“I hope to strengthen communication and collaboration so that Korean Americans throughout Northern Arizona can stay connected and grow together. I want KAANA to be an open and welcoming organization that supports longtime residents, newcomers, business owners, and younger generations alike.”
She also emphasized the importance of cultural outreach and community service.
“Through cultural, educational, and volunteer initiatives, I hope to share the richness of Korean culture and spirit while contributing positively to our local communities.”
Under Kim’s leadership, KAANA plans to expand educational and cultural programs that introduce Korean heritage and values, while also creating more opportunities for networking, community gatherings, and mutual support among Korean Americans throughout Northern Arizona.
With more than 20 years of experience in wellness leadership, community development, and education, Kim brings a unique combination of vision, compassion, and organizational experience to the role. Members look forward to her leadership as KAANA continues to foster unity, cultural pride, and meaningful connections throughout the region.
